Student Spotlight: Lafayette Sophomore Rachel Skolfield Runs the D&L RaceFest for CVC

At CVC, we are constantly inspired by the creative, passionate individuals in our community who step up to support survivors. This fall, we are thrilled to feature Rachel Skolfield, a sophomore at Lafayette College, who is taking on the 2026 D&L RaceFest presented by St. Luke’s on Sunday, November 15, and using her miles to make a lasting impact.
Meet Rachel
Originally from Maine, Rachel is an avid outdoors enthusiast who loves running, hiking, playing croquet, traveling to new places, and spending time in nature. When she’s not outdoors or focusing on her studies at Lafayette, you can find her curled up with a good book, spending time with her cat, or showing love to animals of all kinds.
When Rachel decided to tackle the D&L RaceFest this year, she wanted her effort on the trail to represent something bigger than a personal fitness goal. While the race does not require runners to support a nonprofit, Rachel proactively reached out to CVC to dedicate her run to survivors of crime across our community.
Running for Hope, Healing, and Justice
Every step Rachel takes on race day represents a lifeline for individuals and families navigating trauma.
Because of grassroots champions like Rachel, CVC is able to provide 100% free, confidential support services to victims of crime, including our 24/7 crisis hotline, emergency court and medical advocacy, and long-term trauma counseling.
How You Can Support Rachel’s Run
Rachel is inviting her network, fellow students, and our community to join her in making a difference. Every gift directly funds vital programs for survivors:
$25 helps maintain CVC's 24/7 crisis helpline for individuals in immediate need.
$50 supports direct victim advocacy during emergency legal or medical proceedings.
$100 sponsors trauma-informed counseling sessions for families in recovery.
$250 funds comprehensive, multi-session therapy for a survivor's long-term healing.
$500 powers CVC’s 24/7 emergency response line operations.
No matter the size, every donation cheers Rachel on toward the finish line and ensures no survivor has to walk their journey toward healing alone.
