Our Core Commitments

  • Dignity and Autonomy: We place the survivor in the driver’s seat of their own recovery by offering choice, control, and absolute confidentiality.

  • Fearless Advocacy: We champion the rights of victims in courtrooms, medical settings, and systemic institutions without compromise.

  • Interconnected Care: We work as a unified front - from our 24/7 hotline directly to our clinical counseling teams - to ensure no survivor falls through the cracks.

  • Community Restoration: We utilize targeted outreach and education to break cycles of violence and build a sustainable culture of active support across the Lehigh Valley.

Who We Are

The Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley (CVC) is a dedicated front line of advocates, counselors, and educators fighting for regional healing and systemic justice. Since 1973, we have provided a safe harbor for individuals whose lives have been upended by crime across Lehigh County and Northampton County.

We turn community passion into real-world action through three core pillars:

  • Immediate Crisis Intervention: A 24-hour crisis hotline and immediate medical, police, and legal advocacy so no one faces their worst moments alone.

  • Trauma-Informed Healing: Free, confidential individual and group counseling designed to help survivors reclaim their autonomy and peace.

  • Prevention Education: Active partnerships with schools, colleges, and organizations to provide violence prevention programs and spark vital community conversations.

All of our services are entirely confidential, trauma-informed, and provided at no cost to the survivor. No matter the hour, no matter the circumstance—we are here.

Values

Over 50 Years of Grassroots Advocacy

In 1973, we opened our doors as the region’s grassroots rape crisis center. We began with a foundational conviction: that our community has a collective responsibility to protect and support those impacted by violence.

As the needs of our community evolved, so did we. Today, CVC has grown into a comprehensive victim service agency. We meet survivors exactly where they are - at any hour of the night, at hospital bedsides in Allentown and Bethlehem, in local courtrooms, and in our counseling rooms. Because healing is not a single step; it is a journey. And we are committed to walking it alongside you, every step of the way.
