Understanding Sexual Violence
Sexual violence is an umbrella term. It refers to any sexual act, attempt, or behavior targeted at a person without their explicit consent. This includes situations where a person is physically or legally unable to consent; such as due to age, intoxication, or manipulation.
Sexual violence spans a continuum of behaviors, and it can happen to anyone, regardless of their relationship to the offender.
