Volunteer At Crime Victims Council!

Hotline Volunteers: As a direct service volunteer, you will help respond to the needs of crime victims in need of support. Hotline volunteers must be at least 18 years old, have a car, and complete a 40 hour training course in order to be qualified to help staff the 24-hour hotline. These volunteers also provide accompaniment for victims in local hospital emergency rooms and local police stations.

Support Group Volunteers: As a support group co-facilitator, you will work with a CVC Counselor during one of the various support groups that are offered. Support group counselors must be at least 18 years old and complete a 40 hour training course in order to be qualified to work with crime victims.

Student Internship: Undergraduate and Graduate Internships are available for a variety of majors, including Psychology, Social Work, Counseling and Criminal Justice. Completion of the 40 hour training course is required prior to the start of client interaction.

Community Volunteers: In order to be a Community Volunteer, all that is required is a willingness to help! Some of the activities you can enjoy include:

• Fundraising/Special Events: Spring Plant Sale, Rose Sale, Holiday Plant Sale and Rally Through the Valley

• Staff informational tables at community-wide events and fairs
