Annual Holiday Plant Sale
Decorate your home and/or office with beautiful poinsettias and help support local victims of violence. Orders will be taken through Tuesday, December 2nd and will available for pick up on Tuesday, December 8th at CVC from 1:00-4:30pm. Orders of 10 or more plants can be delivered free of charge! Are poinsettias poisonous?
Poinsettias have been accused of being toxic. However, laboratory studies have shown that the leaves, stems, bracts and flowers are not toxic to people or pets. Iowa State University, December 2002
Plant Care During the Holidays
When poinsettias reach their final destination, unwrap plants carefully and place them in a sunny location away from cold drafts or heat sources. Temperatures between 60 and 70°F are best.
Check the soil daily to determine whether the plant needs water. When the soil is dry to the touch, water the plant thoroughly. Water should flow freely out of the bottom of the pot. Discard the excess water. Bracts [leaves] should remain attractive indoors through the holiday season, and often until Valentine's Day. Iowa State University, December 2002
